CE535: Commercial Interconnection Options

This course will introduce the key concepts and equipment unique to commercial and industrial-scale PV system interconnections. It is intended for people who have experience selling, designing, installing, managing, or in some way working with residential PV system interconnections and are looking to move into larger system types. It can also benefit workers in the operations and maintenance field who are working on three-phase commercial systems. After completing this course, the learner should be able to identify the characteristics of three-phase services and distinguish between wye and delta three-phase service configurations. Additionally, the learner should be able to recognize three common types of electrical distribution system topologies and related equipment characteristics and determine what a service configuration is based on site analysis results. Finally, the learner should be able to identify methods and locations for making PV system connections to existing commercial building electrical services and determine appropriate interconnection methods for given service configurations.
